Title: Freak Street – Wizardsons on Holiday

Characters: Family – Mrs Wizardson, Mr Wizardson, Wendy, Woo Woo, Wyman and Willow
PLOT – The Wizardsons are a magical family that are going on a holiday. Wyman, the Wizardsons son really wants to be good at casting spells. He receives tickets to a Spell Casting Master class by his idol, Wanda Wonder, at a tropical resort. The Wizardsons wanted a holiday and attend the resort.
There were lots of other witches and wizards at the resort all to attend the Master class. When the class was to start, Wanda Wonder didn’t show up. She was out in the water fishing competing in a fishing contest. All the people that were to attend the class went out on their boats to join in the contest.
Wanda Wonder used this as a trick to get all of the people in one place so she could unleash her sea monster. She wanted to get the magic spells from the others as she had run out of ideas to write in her books.
I recommend this book for the age group 9-13 year olds.
My favourite part was when the broomship broke down because of frogs in the engine.

Important to preserve the aboriginal language so young people today have a connection and understanding of their cultural history. Many aboriginals identify with their heritage through their language.
Interesting Fact from Botanical Gardens excursion was that flowers produce pollen. Bees come along and collect the pollen. They take the pollen back to the hive where it is made into honey.
I enjoyed learning about different kinds of plants for example the Spikey Tree, Mango Tree that can be used as a jail.
Habitat – The home of an animal or plant
Producer – Plants are called producers because they produce their own food – process called photosynthesis
Consumer – Animals are consumers because they cannot produce their own food – they need to eat plants and/or animals
Decomposer – Bacteria and Fungi are decomposers – they eat decaying matter, dead plants and animals.
World Habitats – Deserts like the Sahara in Africa; Rain Forests like the Amazon in South America and Oceans like the Pacific Ocean.

This is my fraction fish. The first fish I used was a clown fish but I did not get the right colours. The second fish is a puffer fish. My third fish is a sardine and my fourth fish is an octopus. My fifth fish is a crab and my sixth fish is a swordfish.
The colours I used were green, purple, blue, gold and red.
