Review of this year by Bill

This year has been a huge influence on my learning.  Lets have a look on how this year played out.  We have learnt a range of things including writing, (persuasive letter format, poetry, mystery novels, procedures and informative reports.)  coding, maths, reading, sports and more.  I have achieved a better knowledge of sports when on gala days, I’ve learnt sportsmanship, working as a team and getting better at that sport.  My favourite activity was writing especially when I wrote my Mystery novel.  I’ve enjoyed being in 4M because of all of the new friends I’ve made, the better Understanding I now have and being able to do somthings through genius hour.  this has been a great in 4M and I hope that I will have a great time in year 5.

Isabella’s book review on just Macbeth

Just Macbeth is a great book for children age 8-16 because it has hard to understand words. The book is written by Andy Griffith and illustrated by Terry Denton. The characters are Andy, Danny, Lissa and all the other characters from the actually true Macbeth  story.

The story is about a bunch of kids doing an assignment or practicing their school play and their part was the weird potion. They made it out of unussual  ingredients. And Danny said, “I dare you to drink it” Andy said back, “I will drink it if all 3 of us agree to drink it together”. So they all drank it and they go into the almost true modern day version to the Shakespeare just Macbeth. Andy kills someone and becomes someone special with duties to be done. He Marries Lissa, the crush of his life. I wont spoil too much more!

I rate it 7 out of 10 stars. I recommend it to readers looking for something hard and challenging to read and understand the words.

Dion’s Book Review

Title:                    Freak Street – Wizardsons on Holiday

Author:               Knife and Packer

Characters:       Family – Mrs Wizardson, Mr Wizardson, Wendy, Woo Woo, Wyman and Willow

PLOT – The Wizardsons are a magical family that are going on a holiday. Wyman, the Wizardsons son really wants to be good at casting spells. He receives tickets to a Spell Casting Master class by his idol, Wanda Wonder, at a tropical resort. The Wizardsons wanted a holiday and attend the resort.

There were lots of other witches and wizards at the resort all to attend the Master class. When the class was to start, Wanda Wonder didn’t show up. She was out in the water fishing competing in a fishing contest. All the people that were to attend the class went out on their boats to join in the contest.

Wanda Wonder used this as a trick to get all of the people in one place so she could unleash her sea monster. She wanted to get the magic spells from the others as she had run out of ideas to write in her books.

I recommend this book for the age group 9-13 year olds.

My favourite part was when the broomship broke down because of frogs in the engine.

I rate the book 9.5 out 10

Xander’s book review

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

This is a book review on Diary of a Wimpy Kid, written and illustrated by Jeff Kinney.

The main characters in the story is a kid named Greg Heffley and his best friend Rowley. Other characters are Greg’s mum and dad and Greg’s brothers and the many other people he sees at school.

This story is about Greg keeping a Diary of his life and always reflecting on it. Greg is not a popular Kid he tries to fit in and have fun but he jest gets himself into trouble.

The story is set at Greg’s middle school. It’s his first year at the school and he’s keeping this journal which is definitely not a diary. He is stuck at middle school with a bunch of “morons”!

In the book, page after page is full with hilarious cartoons and stories of Greg’s life. I recommend a age of 6+ for readers.

My favourite part was when Rowley got hit with a football while riding his bike. He fell off into the snow and peed his pants.

I give this book 6 and 1/2 stars out of 10.
